New workshop for 2022

It's been a long time since we had a workshop, and there's no way to better show that we're back than with Brian Atyeo's course, Open Studio/Advanced Analysis.

Open Studio/Advanced Analysis with Brian Atyeo
October 3–7, 2022 Tuition: $740 cdn.

Rate Increase

Hello Everyone,

We hope that this finds you all well. Unfortunately, after having seen substantial increases in everything from insurance costs to gas and so on, we are increasing our rates. This brings the cost of a single room to $115/person/night (from $109) and shared accommodation to $94/night/person (from $89). These rates will be in effect starting January 1, 2022.

We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

With kind regards,

Ursula and Rick Reynolds

River Rock Studio Open for Small Groups

Although we were forced to cancel all of the 2020 workshops, River Rock Studio is still open for small group retreats. For the safety of our guests, our COVID 19 protocol is to clean the facility after each group and leave River Rock Studio vacant for a minimum of 5 days.

Our large common spaces allow for social distancing. Each of the Studio’s 6 bedrooms, spread out over 3 different floors, has its own bathroom which makes social distancing even easier. With its spacious layout and rural setting, River Rock Studio is the ideal location to escape to.

Contact Ursula Reynolds for more information.

Welcome back Rocky Mountain Quilting Tours!

We are especially pleased to be hosting the Australia's Rocky Mountain Quilting Tours on their fifth visit to River Rock.

Nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, River Rock Studio is ideally suited for retreats or workshops; be they art, business or any other organization seeking to escape to a natural, creative environment. With a diverse landscape ranging from meadows and aspen woodlands, to rocky ravines and free-flowing rivers, River Rock Studio seems a world apart from the city of Calgary, though it lies only an hour away. The Jamison Creek ravine and the Ghost River give the property its unique natural features.

Artist Ursula Reynolds and her husband Rick founded River Rock Studio in 1998. Ursula recalls feeling such a connection to the land that she “felt compelled to share it.”

River Rock is oriented to smaller groups. The facility offers two large areas perfect as meeting or studio space, bedrooms with private baths, and common areas including kitchen, dining and living rooms.
